Diamond Wedding Anniversary surprise for Elith
Elith Wilson got a surprise visit from Provost Renwick today, organised by her thoughtful family on the occasion of their parents' Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
Provost Renwick met Elith at her home in Bishopbriggs to celebrate the landmark day although her husband of 60 years, Iain, wasn't able to join them due to ill health.
Married September 1962
Mr & Mrs Wilson were married on 6 September 1962 in Stonelaw Parish Church in Rutherglen, following a holiday romance under the romantic dark skies of Norway a few years earlier. They went on to have three children and are now proud grandparents four times over.
According to Elith the secret to their long and happy union is simple - be kind to each other - and Iain has that in spades. In him, she found herself a loving husband, father and grandfather.
