Summer festival of food and fun

Milngavie Town Hall was the venue for the East Dunbartonshire Ethnic Minority Forum’s first ever Summer Festival and Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid was given the honour of opening the event.

The packed family event featured dancing, live music, food, raffles, arts & crafts stalls and a talent show.

Depute Provost McDiarmid said,

One of the very best things about my role is the opportunity to attend this kind of event and meet people like those from our local Ethnic Minority Forum who do so much work in our community.

Promoting equality of opportunity and racial harmony

“Over the years they have been promoting equality of opportunity and racial harmony within East Dunbartonshire and today’s event is a perfect example of the work they do to achieve their aims. The Festival was a great opportunity for local people to come together.”

Special guests at the event include Amit Chaudhray, Vice Consul at Ministry of External Affairs of the Consulate General of India in Edinburgh and Captain Vinil Gupta, the Chief Executive Officer of World of Super Yachts Limited who sponsored the Festival.
