I was honoured to have been asked to officially open the BIG Weekend on Saturday. And like so many other local people and visitors, I had a fabulous time.
We all know Kirkintilloch is a beautiful town but it was looking especially spectacular over the weekend, in the sunshine and all decked out for the celebrations.
The organisers did a brilliant job, pulling everything together for three days of community and family fun. The response was tremendous and they put together an exceptional calendar of events, securing some top attractions.
From dance to dinosaurs, classic cars to candyfloss, fairground fun to facepainting, music to merry-go-rounds…..there was something for everyone and lots of local musical talent on display on stage.
I want to say an enormous thank you to Kirkintilloch BID for their ongoing efforts to make Kirkintilloch a great place to work, live and visit. And a special mention to the Board Members for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. They have outdone themselves!
