Provost Renwick joined members of the Walk Run Cycle East Dunbartonshire (WRCED) group at Southbank Marina today as part of a festival to mark their five-year anniversary.
The festival included 13 fun events.

WRCED started life as an online sharing platform in May 2020 at the start of the pandemic and quickly became a safe, welcoming and supportive environment, albeit online to begin with, for members to share their local walking, running and cycling routes.
Now a constituted community group with a Board of eight and over 50 volunteers, they work hard to deliver activities to improve people’s physical health, mental wellbeing and to decrease social isolation. They facilitate around eight weekly events like health walks, cycles, runs, litter-picking and Munro adventures. You can find out more on their website
Provost Renwick said, “Congratulations to everyone at Walk Run Cycle East Dunbartonshire. They do so much to help local people get active and involved in community activities. Born out of the pandemic the group is now thriving and it was great to meet them as they celebrated their first five years together.”
