The posters promised great family fun and entertainment and that is just what happened in Woodhead Park today as people gathered for the annual Kirkintilloch Gala Day.
Things kicked off with a colourful parade through the streets, leading to the park where is was clear that all the fun of the fair had come to town.
As she joined the crowds and savoured the atmosphere, Provost Renwick met Kirkintilloch Community Council’s Youth Ambassadors from Holy Trinity Primary. She said, “It was lovely to chat with local people, coming together and enjoying themselves. There was a real community feel to the day. Well done to the organisers.
“I’ve invited the Youth Ambassadors to Council HQ for a chat and to celebrate their important role.”
