There was much celebration in Bishopbriggs this weekend as the 268th Glasgow Boys' Brigade marked their 90th Anniversary.
Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid was a guest at the anniversary dinner and met Captain John Armour, Rev Ian Taylor (the group’s chaplain) and lots of ex-members and staff alongside current staff.
She said, “The work that this organisation has done over the decades and continues to do means so much to the local community and they should be proud of their legacy and durability. Without organisations like the BBs our society would be so much poorer.
“I genuinely believe that the added value they bring to local families is invaluable and on behalf of the people of East Dunbartonshire I’d like to thank everyone involved for their hard work, commitment and service over the years.”
