Technical Notes 2021, Issue 138 - Roads & Environment 2021/22 Carriageway and Footway Resurfacing Programme Quarterly Update

- The purpose of the Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on the previous quarters Roads & Environment 2021/22 Carriageway and Footway Resurfacing Programme.
- As a result of restrictions placed on the service in relation to single person vehicle occupancy and social distancing the Roads Network Team were initially delayed in commencing the resurfacing programme for 2021/22.
- Through the introduction of vehicle screens and the amendment of safe working practices the Roads Network Team were able to return to carriageway resurfacing operations on 7 June 2021.
- Unfortunately, works previously programmed prior to this date were unable to be completed. The service is committed to delivering these projects within the financial year and projects will be reprogrammed as resources become available over the course of the year.
- *Indicates locations where coal tar has been identified. These location require use of a specialist contractor and the Roads Network Team are currently working through the tender process to secure the services of an external contractor to deliver these projects.
