Section

1.         The purpose of this technical note is to advise Members of the arrangements for suspension of parking charges across East Dunbartonshire over the festive period.

2.         The COVID pandemic has been a challenging time for our town centres, high streets and local businesses, and a decision has been taken to suspend parking charges in the nine charging car parks on the Saturdays of December in the run up to Christmas. These are 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th December 2021.

3.         Additionally, arrangements have been made to suspend parking charges in the four chargeable car parks of Milngavie on Saturday, 27th November 2021, when Milngavie Business Improvement District are hosting a community festive event and Christmas light switch-on.

4.         Corporate Communications will ensure there is promotion of the Christmas season parking arrangements locally and on social media. The Community Safety Team will have the meters covered over and appropriate signage displayed informing drivers using the car parks.
