Section

  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with details of the funeral arrangements for the late Provost Alan Brown.
  2. The Provost’s family have been in touch with officers with details of the arrangement for the funeral service which will be held at Daldowie Crematorium on 9 December 2021, starting at 10.45am.

  3. The maximum attendance allowed inside the Crematorium is currently 150, and so the Provost’s family have asked that officers provide an indication of likely attendees in order that they can manage numbers. 

  4. Officer attendance is likely to be limited to the Corporate Management Team and those officers who worked closely with the Provost.

  5. In order that the Council can assist the Provost’s family at this time, any Member who plans to attend the funeral service is asked to contact Martin Cunningham, Corporate Governance Manager to confirm by close of play on Friday 3 December.  Officers will then provide details of numbers to the family to assist with planning.

  6. Members should note that the funeral service will also be available online and details will be circulated once known.

  7. Finally, the Provost’s family have asked for family flowers only please.
