Technical Notes 2021, Issue 205 - Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets Committee 20th January 2022 Education Committee 25th January 2022
Section
1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with an update in relation to meetings of the Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets Committee scheduled for 20th January 2022 and Education Committee scheduled for 25th January 2022.
2. Members will be aware of the increasing prevalence of the omicron variant of COVID-19 and various restrictions being put in place in an attempt to stem further infection.
3. The impact of omicron and current infection rates, combined with concerns about a post Christmas surge is such that the Council is now required to put various contingency measures in place. These measures are required to protect the most vulnerable, and secure the delivery of vital front line services. They are also necessary given the impact that omicron and isolation requirements are having on the Council’s workforce.
4. Meetings of the Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets and Education Committees are scheduled for 20th and 25th January 2022 respectively. There is limited business for each and nothing which is time pressing or operationally urgent.
5. In light of the move back to command and control arrangements to support front line services and given the limited business for each Committee, a decision has been taken to cancel both the Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets and Education Committee meetings scheduled for January. Any emerging urgent matters will be submitted to the next scheduled ordinary Council meeting on 3rd February and both Committees are scheduled to meet again in March.
