The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Elected Members of changes to the School Clothing Grant allowances for the 2022/23 academic year.
The Scottish Government allocated East Dunbartonshire Council £1.63m from the Local Authority COVID Economic Recovery Fund. The Council has allocated £320k to School Clothing Grants which will double the grant award for the 2022/23 academic year.
The 2022/23 School Clothing Grant payment for eligible primary school pupils is doubled from £120 to £240 while the grant for eligible young people at secondary school will be doubled from £150 to £300.
Applications for the school clothing grant for the new school session beginning in August can be made online from today, Thursday 23 June. This will be promoted on the Council website and through social media platforms.
