The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on the publication of the Parking Management Plan.
The Parking Management Plan was approved at Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee on 7 June 2022 (PNCA/039/22/AL). It has now been designed and published on the Council webpage.
Elected Members are encouraged to share it with constituents and refer to it in correspondence on parking.
The purpose of the Parking Management Plan is to:
Assess current evidence, legislation and policy specifically related to parking. Evidence includes consultation responses received from stakeholders and local residents.
Outline the roles and responsibilities of the Council, Police Scotland and all vehicle drivers in contributing to a safe, local road network.
Provide a coordinated Council approach to decision making for parking management across East Dunbartonshire.
Set out clear Parking Policies which outline the approach the Council has and will continue to take in managing and enforcing parking issues across East Dunbartonshire.
Detail clearly how the Council will work with partners and local people to deliver on these Policies, including through supporting actions, and ensure our communities, streets and places are safer and cleaner for all.
