Section

  1. Following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty, The Queen Elizabeth local authorities are able to put arrangements in place for a local Proclamation.  Provost Renwick will deliver the local Proclamation for East Dunbartonshire at 2pm at Kilmardinny House on Sunday 11 September. All councillors are invited to attend.

  2. Consistent with Protocol, the local Proclamation takes place following the Proclamation in Scotland at the Merkat in Edinburgh at 12 noon the same day. In addition to the Provost’s invited guests, employees and members of the public are welcome to attend the East Dunbartonshire Proclamation.

  3. Parking at Kilmardinny House will be restricted to invited guests only and there will be no parking on the section of Kilmardinny Avenue in front of Kilmardinny House (between the two access points to Kilmardinny Crescent). This section of road will also be closed to public vehicular access from 12 noon on Sunday. Members of the public planning to attend, are encouraged to be on site for 1.45pm.

  4. There is guidance on the Royal Family website on the period of national mourning following the demise of Her Majesty, and anyone who wishes to sign the official book of condolence can also do so on the Royal Family website.

  5. Arrangements and communications in relation to the period of mourning and the State Funeral are led by the Palace and Scottish Government and a further update will be provided once these have been confirmed.
