Section
The purpose of this technical note is to provide Elected Members an update with regards to the status of the naming process for the new ASN School in Kirkintilloch.
Technical Note 113-22 was issued on 19 July 2022 advising of the process and procedure that is followed for naming of new schools, which was being followed for the new ASN School in Kirkintilloch. Consultation with the stakeholders of both Campsie View and Merkland Schools was undertaken from 22 August to 5 September 2022.
The stakeholders were asked to choose their preferred name for the new ASN School from the list of four names that were provided by the Interim Parent Council. These names are shown below with the details on the voting numbers:

When there is less than 10% of the overall votes cast between first and second on the list, we are required to perform further consultation as detailed in the Education Procedure Manual. This consultation will now be between the top two names that were cast in the original consultation. These names are Kelvin Valley School and Woodland View School. The consultation will run from Monday 12 September 2022 until Monday 26 September 2022 for all stakeholders to choose their preference from the two proposed school names.
The consultation will involve the same stakeholders as before and will be emailed out to all.
Once we have the results from the consultation, I will provide another technical note advising of the results, then proceed to a report for the Education Committee for approval on the name choice.
