The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members regarding a proposed meeting of the Housing Health & Care Forum.
Officers have been asked to arrange an early meeting of the Housing Health & Care Forum. The meeting will have one agenda item, namely a Report entitled - Older People’s Social Support – 5 Year Strategic Vision. This is a strategically important paper which is due to be considered at a meeting of the Health & Social Care Partnership (“HSCP”) on 30th June.
The Report to be considered by the HSCP will have implications for the Council. The subject matter sits within the determination of the HSCP, as opposed to the Council, however the meeting of the Housing Health & Care Forum will provide Members with an opportunity to consider the Report in advance of any decision by the HSCP. It will also provide time for the Council to make representations to the HSCP, if appropriate.
Members will be aware that there is an HSCP briefing session scheduled for 27th June @ 2pm. The purpose of the session is to provide Members with an overview of the work of the HSCP, its operational obligations/powers, and the governance arrangements/relationship with the Council. The meeting of the Housing Health & Care Forum will follow at 3.30pm thereby ensuring that all Members have the same understanding of the role and powers of the Council v the role and powers of the HSCP.
Those Members who are part of the Housing Health & Care Forum will shortly receive an invitation for the meeting on 27th June. Papers for the Housing Health & Care Forum will be issued 6 clear days in advance of the meeting as per the requirements of Standing Order 7
