Section
The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members regarding a proposed meeting of the Traffic Management Appeals Board (“TMAB”).
Members will be aware that the purpose of the TMAB is to consider objections and representations in respect of proposed traffic orders and to decide whether to approve, amend or abandon the proposed order.
There are currently three proposed Traffic Regulation Orders (“TROs”) where there are maintained objections. These TROs were advertised as part of the public consultation some time ago. Unfortunately, it did not prove possible to refer to a meeting of the TMAB prior to the recent Local Government elections.
It is important that the maintained objections are considered by a meeting of the TMAB in order that the TROs can be progressed or abandoned, subject to the determination of the TMAB, therefore a meeting has been scheduled for 30th June 2022 @ 2pm.
The meeting of the TMAB on 30th June will be the first meeting of the TMAB since the election and so training will be available to Members in advance of the meeting. It is proposed that training will take place on 30th June at 10am, with the Board then meeting at 2pm.
Each of the TROs has only one maintained objection and so for that reason it is proposed to hear all three on 30th June. This will be managed via webex and each TRO will be considered separately, with the relevant objector being invited to join the meeting at the relevant point in the Agenda.
Those Members who are part of the TMAB will shortly receive invitations for both the training session and meeting on 30th June. Papers for the TMAB will be issued 6 clear days in advance of the meeting as per the requirements of Standing Order 7.
