    1. This Technical Note has been written to inform Elected Members of the Closure again of the Merkland Play Park. 
       
    2. Following an inspection by Streetscene Operations on Friday, 2nd June  at the play area off Newdyke Road, Officers reported to management that there had been vandalism on the main walkway of the multiplay unit and parts of the play surface.  Due to the extent of the damage and risk of injury, the play park was closed to the general public.  The matter has also been reported to Police Scotland
    1. Officers will arrange a visit to the play area with the supplier to discuss availability of parts for a temporary repair prior to whole site upgrade which will be progressed subject to available funding.
       
    2. Officers are liaising with Community Safety colleagues to consider options re future monitoring and security in advance of the whole site upgrade.
