    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with information on the Regent Gardens public realm project site compound.

    Project Update

    1. The project to improve Regent Gardens in Kirkintilloch Town Centre has moved to the construction stage. The construction work will take several months and works are expected to complete early 2024. Due to the constrained nature of the town centre site, a remote site compound is required and has been located at the Southbank Marina.
    2. The area at the Marina being used for the site compound will be required for use during the 2023 Kirkintilloch Canal Festival. The Regent Gardens contractor (RJ McLeod) will remove the compound for the Canal Festival weekend. The site compound will be reinstated after the Canal Festival.

    Next steps

    1. Officers will continue to liaise with the project contractor as part of the delivery of the Regent Gardens project.
