Section
The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on progress on the installation defibrillators across the Council’s Education and Operational Estate following a recent Council decision.
A total of 64 HeartSine 360P fully automatic defibrillators have been procured which will be installed both internally and externally across the Council’s portfolio.
All Primary and Secondary schools, Early Year Centres and the new Woodland View school have now been fitted with a defibrillator for the beginning of the new school term as part of Phase 1 of the project.
Phase 2 of the defibrillator project will involve the installation of the external defibrillators which will be fitted inside cabinets located externally on 21 Corporate Buildings. Work to install these will commence shortly with a target of having all installed by early September 2023.
There are two locations which were approved by Council which Officers are currently reviewing as there are defibrillators already in close proximity to the proposed locations, both of which were installed by the local community. Those buildings are the Fraser Centre, Milngavie and Westerton Public Hall, Bearsden. A further update will be provided on those installations in due course.
