Section
This Technical Note is to inform Elected Members of the postponement of the upgrade of the play park at Westerton Play Park.
Following recent Council decisions, officers are commencing a feasibility review to assess alternative 2 agreed options to the previously approved refurbishment/extension proposal for Westerton Primary School. One option will consider the feasibility of developing a new-build facility at the Westerton Hall and Library site, with the other to consider the feasibility of the school being decanted to the Westerton playing fields followed by a new school on its existing site. Officers are finalising the appointment of the design team to commence the feasibility review.
In light of this information and action, the Roads & Environment Service has postponed the proposed upgrade of the existing play park at Westerton Play Park.
The play area project will remain on the overall play area development and refurbishment list and will be revisited once the outcome of the feasibility study is known and Council has determined its preferred option for Westerton Primary.
