  1. This is the latest in a series of Technical Notes to update Members in relation to the ongoing planning and arrangements for the upcoming UK Parliamentary election.
     
  2. Members may be aware that polling cards (letters) have now been dispatched and should be hitting door mats over the next few days.  The format for this election is different from usual in that voters will receive a letter rather than the traditional card.  This is due to the inclusion of additional information relating to Voter ID and changes to Postal Votes.
     
  3. The deadlines for registering to vote and applying for an absent votes are fast approaching.  These are set out below -

Applications to register to vote, and for postal or proxy votes must be made to the Electoral Registration Officer and not the Council.  The most efficient way to register is online [opens in a new window].  This website will provide a link to all relevant forms, including those for Postal and Proxy Votes.

  1. It is anticipated that the first tranche of Postal Votes will be issued on 19th June.  The second and third tranches will be issued at later dates.  It is important to note anyone registering for a Postal Vote now is likely to be in a later tranche and this will impact the date on when the Postal Vote pack is received by them.  

  2. Postal Vote opening sessions will take place at the Council HQ on the following dates/times.-
