Section

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to inform Members that a Tenant Satisfaction Survey undertaken by an independent consultant, Research Resource on behalf of the Council, is complete.

  2. The main aim of the study is to research tenants’ satisfaction with a range of Housing and Property Maintenance services, in line with the requirements of the Scottish Social Housing Charter (SSHC). The research is designed to assess how the Council performs as a landlord and to identify areas where services can be improved. Specifically, the research seeks customer’s views on the following:

  • The quality of information provided by the Council

  • Quality of the home and of the neighbourhood

  • The property maintenance service

  • Tenant involvement/opportunities to participate

  •  Rent and value for money

  1. Performance in these key areas has marginally decreased overall in comparison to the 2022 survey. Although this is not unique to East Dunbartonshire as a general national trend, the Housing Service has developed an Action Plan to address performance to increase levels of satisfaction that will be monitored throughout the reporting year.
  2. The full Tenant Satisfaction Survey will be made available on the Council’s website by the end of June and a presentation of the key findings was delivered at the Tenant Participation Working Group on 30 May 2024.
