- The purpose of this Technical Note is to inform Members of the completion of, and publication of, the Care Inspectorate’s inspection report on East Dunbartonshire’s Continuing Care Service - Adult Placement Service.
- East Dunbartonshire adult placement service provides a care service for young people from 18 to 21 years, who are in the care of their foster families on a continuing care basis. These young people and their foster families live or have connections in the East Dunbartonshire area. The service is delivered through the Children and Families, Care Planning and Placement Team. The team has a range of responsibilities including fostering, adoption and kinship care.
- The inspection was a short notice, announced, inspection and took place between 23/10/2023 and 15/11/2023 and was published on 31 January 2024. The report is attached as Appendix 1.
- Detail of the findings are contained in the report, the following is a summary:
- How well do we support People’s wellbeing? – Grade 4 – Good
- How well is our care and support planned? – Grade 3 - Adequate
- The Care Inspectorate have given the service one requirement: By 1 March 2024, the service must ensure that all young people have a comprehensive and individualised personal plan that is subject to regular review. An action plan has been developed to address this issue.
