Members will be aware that both the former Merkland School and Milngavie Town Hall are currently being utilised by Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Board (NHSGGC) as vaccination clinics, and these particular venue arrangements have been in place since August 2023.
The final date for the use of the former Merkland School as a clinic will be Wednesday 7 August 2024. Thereafter the Kirkintilloch clinic will be relocated to Kirkintilloch Town Hall. Members will be aware that the Town Hall has in the past served as the clinic for this area.
Vaccination clinics are operated by the Public Health Immunisation Team at NHSGGC who will decommission the Merkland clinic and transport all stock and equipment directly to Kirkintilloch Town Hall for starting on 14 August 2024.
Kirkintilloch clinics will continue to operate on Wednesdays and Milngavie on Thursdays. Out with these days both Kirkintilloch and Milngavie Town Halls will continue to operate as business as usual and be available for bookings, hire and community groups/activities.
It is anticipated that the Scottish Government and NHS Boards will announce proposals for the annual winter vaccination programme in the coming weeks, which it is expected will take place during October and November 2024, and a further update will be follow with these arrangements.
The Council will continue to support NHSGGC in the operation of the clinics, with the contact officer being Evonne Bauer (evonne.bauer@eastdunbarton.gov.uk)
