Section
The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members of arrangements being put in place for the installation of the Modern.Gov App on Members laptops and phones.
Members will recall that at its Budget meeting on 26th March, Council agreed to move to electronic meeting papers only and to withdraw paper copies. Implementation was originally scheduled for August, however this has been delayed due to the unscheduled UK Parliamentary election and will now be implemented from 1st October 2024.
In order to prepare for this, Members require to have the Modern.Gov App installed on their laptops and phones. The installation of the App on laptops is such that it requires action from officers and so arrangements are now in place to facilitate this.
Members are asked to bring their laptops into the Marina on one of the following dates –
Monday 19th – 10am to 2pm
Tues 20th – 10am to 5pm
Wed 21st – 10 am to 3.30pm
On these dates, officers from ICT and Democratic Services will be located in the Committee Room. The App will be installed on both laptops and phones and Members will be registered. Officers will check that the installation has been successful, and that each Member can access the App.
A basic training manual will be provided following installation and detailed training sessions will be scheduled for Members towards the end of September, nearer the “go live” date.
Any Member who is unable to attend on the dates listed above should contact Karen Donnelly or Martin Cunningham as soon as possible.
