Section
The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide information on forthcoming tree felling and bund clearance works at the proposed affordable housing development site at Huntershill, Bishopbriggs. The works are due to commence around Wednesday, 28th August and will take approx. 1 week, subject to weather conditions.
The tree felling works are required to enable a site investigation survey to be carried out. The trees will be cleared around the areas where boreholes are required to identify the extent of mine workings beneath the site. In addition, a bund of overgrown, thick shrub and dead trees which prohibits vehicular access to the Western part of the site, will be cleared. This will allow greater access to this area without crossing the neighbouring land to the North which is outwith Council ownership.
The trees which are being cleared have been identified as being in poor condition in the tree survey prepared in 2023, with some being recommended for removal. The findings of the site investigation will inform the next phase of design development proposals for the site.
