Technical Notes 2024, Issue 161 - Roads & Neighbourhood Services – Road Inspection & Maintenance Plan 2024 - 2027
Section
The purpose of the Technical Note is to provide Members with an update on the revised Road Inspection & Maintenance Plan.
The 2022 – 2024 Roads Inspection & Maintenance Plan has been reviewed and updated with the new 2024 – 2027 Roads Inspection and Maintenance Plan (Appendix A) taking effect from Monday 30th September 2024.
The East Dunbartonshire Council 2024 – 2027 Roads Inspection and Maintenance Plan now includes an overview of inspections undertaken by all Roads Services which were not included in the previous version which solely focused on the inspections undertaken by the Roads Network Operations Team.
This Plan outlines how the Roads Network Operations Team and Roads Technical & Engineering Team manage and maintain the Council’s Road (and related) assets including carriageways, footways, bridges, structures, street lighting, drainage, street furniture, street signs, road markings and cycleways.
It contains details of procedures used by the Services areas to maintain and operate the road (and related) assets and will be used as a reference by those tasked with their management.
The Service aims to deliver a customer-focused road maintenance service that aligns funding to maximise the impact set resources have on safety and condition of our roads.
The 2024 – 2027 Roads Inspection and Maintenance Plan will also be available via the Council website as a reference document for members of the public and any other interested party.
