Statutory consultees, including relevant Elected Members, MSPs and MPs, were written to by Dr. Jude Marshall, Clinical Director, East Dunbartonshire HSCP on Monday 4th March 2024.  The letter is in regards to a request received from Peel View Medical Centre to close their branch surgery in Lenzie.  The branch surgery has not been utilised for patient contact since 2020 and due to unsustainable maintenance and repair costs, the Practice have requested to close the branch surgery.  Peel View Medical Centre will continue to see patients between their main Practice in Kirkintilloch and their other branch surgery in Lennoxtown.

As stipulated in Informing, Engaging and Consulting People in Developing Health & Community Care Services Guidance 2010, any request by a GP Practice to cease provision from a branch surgery requires advanced consultation with key individuals within a 4 week period.

To this end members should be advised that this statutory consultation is now underway.  Those who wish to comment on the proposal by Peel View Medical Centre to close their branch surgery within Lenzie should submit their views by Friday 29th March 2024 to Dianne.Rice@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Peel View Medical Centre are currently undertaking the prescribed consultation with their patient community.

Following conclusion of the consultation, a report reflecting the views received will be shared with the East Dunbartonshire HSCP Board for comment prior to submission by the HSCP to NHSGG&C Board for final decision.
