    Section

    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide an update on the cessation of grounds maintenance at Wester Cleddens Estate, Bishopbriggs.

    2. East Dunbartonshire Council has recently learned of the sale of the land contained within the title GLA246632.  According to Land Registry Scotland, the land has been sold to Rockwell Scotland Limited.  

    3. Following the expiry of an agreement between the Council’s predecessor authority and the Wester Cleddens Residents’ Association, the Council has historically undertaken maintenance on a custom and practice basis of the amenity areas listed with the aforesaid Land Registry title. The Council reserved the right to cease to undertake maintenance works either in whole or in part at any time and is not subject to any obligation to continue with the current arrangements or enter into fresh arrangements on the same or a different basis. 

    4. It should be noted that following the sale to Rockwell Scotland Limited, the Council has ceased all amenity area maintenance as indicated within the title with immediate effect. The maintenance of said areas now reverts to the proprietor or as otherwise provided in the title conditions to the property.

    5. The Registration of any factoring arrangements with the Council will be removed from the Scottish Government’s Property Factor Register with immediate effect.
