    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

  1. This Technical Note is to inform elected members that our estates team are currently inspecting possible damage to schools and early years centres following significant winds from Storm Éowyn yesterday. (Friday 24 January 2025).
  2. Health and Safety inspections will continue to take place over the weekend to ensure the buildings are able to safely reopen on Monday, 27 January. There have been a number of minor issues across the school estate and work to repair these is already underway.
  3. On further assessment this morning, we have noted significant impact to the roof of Hillhead Primary School and Early Years Centre.
  4. In order to allow full assessment and repair Hillhead Primary School and Early Years Centre will remain closed on Monday 27 January.
  5. At present we are planning for a 1 day closure with the school and centre reopening on Tuesday 28 January 2025.
  6. Communication detailed above will be issued to all parents of the school and centre following this technical note via our usual communication channels and further notifications will be issued on the Council’s website and social media.
