  • This Technical Note has been written to update Elected Members on the requirement to retender the designs for the new Bishopbriggs Play Area within Bishopbriggs Park

  • Bishopbriggs Park has received a significant investment for the creation of a new Destination Play area – this from a combination of funders, predominantly Scottish Government play area allocation and East Dunbartonshire Council capital allocation

  • Initial consultation was undertaken in July this year however an irregularity has been noted within the tendering process and there is a now requirement for companies within the framework to resubmit designs as part of the new process

  • These designs will be voted for again by the public and details around this are as below:

    • Bishopbriggs Library - drop in voting will be available from Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October from 10am to 7pm both days

    • Primary Schools in Bishopbriggs – every Primary School will be visited by the project team to gather young peoples votes on their favourite design

  • The successful design will progress as soon as possible to construction with the anticipation that the new facility will be in place for April 2026.
