    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members on the transition to a new internet service provider

  • The Council’s internet provider is changing on Tuesday 19 August

  • The new provider is activating the connection and transferring the service at some point between 12noon and 4pm on that day

  • ICT anticipate that service interruption to online systems once transition is underway will be up to one hour when the changeover happens

  • During the interruption Elected Members and employees will be unable to access cloud-based communications platforms including email, Teams and Cisco Webex

  • Access to email and Teams on Council mobile phones will be unaffected

  • The interruption will also impact wider Council systems, and a communication will be issued to employees to advise of this. Arrangements are in place to ensure emergency response applications remain fully operational during the transition period.
