    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide an update on the approach to the removal of flyposting from East Dunbartonshire Council assets and street furniture including street lighting columns, guardrail, pedestrian barriers, traffic lights, perimeter fences etc
  • The Council has become aware of an increase in flyposting in recent days and this includes attaching various flags and banners to council owned assets and street furniture at several locations
  • The Roads & Neighbourhood Teams have responded to several reports of unauthorised flyposting by removing the items from street lighting columns as part of their routine function
  • This is the recognised and agreed approach will continue in line with competing operational priorities
  • Items can be reported via the Report It webpage and the relevant service area will respond as an when resources become available to do so

  • As per the East Dunbartonshire Council webpage, any fly-posting material removed by the Council will be recycled/disposed of at the Council’s Mavis Valley Recycling Centre. Anything which may fall within the ambit of abandoned property will be notified to Police Scotland in accordance with s.67 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.
