This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to update members on a change of plan regarding TouchBase Dunbartonshire Day Care Service located in Bishopbriggs. The planned relocation of this service was subject to a recent Technical Note (194-25) dated 10 November 2025.
  • On the 11 November 2025, the HSCP received notification from TouchBase Dunbartonshire explaining that further discussions have taken place with RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) regarding the lease. RNIB subsequently agreed to charge Sense Scotland a ‘peppercorn rent’ for the premises until March 2027. As a result, the service will no longer need to relocate to TouchBase Glasgow in March 2026.
  • In the meantime, families and carers have been notified and Sense Scotland will focus efforts on raising the necessary funds to purchase the building. A working group will be organised to help identify potential donors along with fundraising activities to help finance the purchase & secure the building / service long term.
