  • The Technical Note is to inform Elected Members that Hillhead Primary School and Early Years Centre have suffered a loss of water supply this morning.
  • Scottish Water have confirmed a burst water pipe in the area (Redbrae Road, Kirkintilloch) which has resulted in a loss of all water to both the school and early years centre.  Notification at 9.40am on the Scottish Water website confirmed that a fault was located but repair is still to commence.  This has also been confirmed verbally with Scottish Water and no time frame for repair has been communicated
  • Due to lack of water in the school and early years centre, a decision was made by the Chief Education Officer to close the school at 11am today
  • Parents/carers are currently being contacted to collect their children from the school and early years centre
  • The school and early years centre will reopen on Wednesday 19th November as normal, unless Scottish Water advise repair will not be completed in time.
