    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

  • The purpose of this technical note is to inform Members of the exceptional school closure day to facilitate the forthcoming by-election for Ward 3, Bearsden South - for Bearsden Primary School and Colquhoun Park Primary School.
  • Permission has been requested and granted by Scottish Government Ministers to close both schools on Thursday, 29 January 2026 to allow for each school to be used a Polling Stations.
  • Learning will be provided for pupils of both schools to complete during this exceptional school closure day.
  • Pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals will be in receipt of funding for this day.
  • For employees who are based within either school, this day will be treated as an in-service day.  They will still have access to the building and will have a separate location to the area for the polling station.
  • Letters will be issued to staff and parents of both schools to inform them of the exceptional closure date.
