      This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

    • The purpose of this technical note is to confirm the closure arrangements for Torrance Community Centre in relation to the forthcoming internal and external refurbishment works.
    • The Community Centre will be closed for the duration of the project, from Monday 21 April 2025 until the conclusion of works, currently anticipated in November 2025.
    • The west section of the rear car park will remain open for access for members of Victoria Bowling Club and their commercial deliveries. The remainder of the rear car park will be used by the project contractor (Valley Group) for site accommodation and works compound. On-site signage will be provided confirming closure of the Centre along with the maintained access for Victoria Bowling Club.
    • Advanced notice of the Centre closure has been previously advised to the Council’s Letting team late in 2024 and early in 2025 on a provisional basis who in turn had notified all lets of the forthcoming closure. This now been confirmed formally with them.
    • On-going updates on project progress will be provided through the duration of the project via the General Services Capital Programme Monitoring Reports which are submitted regularly to the Policy & Resources Committee and published on the Council’s website.
