This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.
The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members on the commencement of the Ground Investigation (GI) Surveys for the Westerhill Development Road (WDR) project
The next stage of surveys are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 23 April for a duration of 4 weeks, ending on Wednesday, 21 May. The Barrage Balloon site will be the designated compound for the duration of the works and the site access licences are currently being negotiated with the landowners
The surveys will take place around the Torrance Roundabout, Cole Road and surrounding area along the proposed route of the WDR. As some of the surveys will involve road coring this will require the use of Temporary Rolling Traffic lights for intermittent periods of time whilst the coring is undertaken
The planning application for the WDR was submitted on 19 March 2025. All the associated documentation can be found under planning reference number TP/ED/25/0151 on the Councils website or click: WDR planning app
