Details

  • The Council publishes a Carbon Management Plan annually, estimating greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies: Reporting Requirements) (Scotland) Order 2015, which requires the Council to submit an annual Climate Change Report to Scottish Ministers, detailing compliance with the climate change duties. The most recent report was published in November 2025 (PNCA/047/25/RS)
  • As part of the data collection, an annual Employee Travel Survey is necessary for the Council to estimate emissions from the Council’s homeworking and commuting activities.

East Dunbartonshire Council Employee Travel Survey

  • In 2025, the Council worked with TravelKnowHow to design an employee travel survey using set questions that would allow emissions to be estimated using Zero Waste Scotland’s Commuter Emission Calculator, whilst also gathering information on current modes of travel and identifying barriers to sustainable transport for employees
  • In 2026, officers will estimate emissions internally using a revised survey. This will allow the number of questions to be reduced significantly and will enable internal consultation on the proposed questions to tailor the survey more specifically to the Council. This addresses feedback from the 2025 survey and offers potential to increase response rates from across Council departments
  • The online Employee Travel Survey is live from the 2nd of February until the 27 February and can be accessed via the following link (NOW CLOSED)
