    Auchinairn Housing consultation - Affordable Housing Provision - Follow Up Consultation

    Residents are being given another chance to find out about proposals to build over 60 affordable homes for social rent in Auchinairn. 

    The Council, in partnership with CRGP Architects, Cruden Construction and the Council’s development partners hub West Scotland, are offering residents a chance to find out more about the plans at a drop-in event being held in September.  

    The site, to the east of Beech Road, includes the former Auchinairn Primary School and an adjacent area of vacant land, is presently used for open space, but was allocated in the Local Development Plan for residential development. 

    The proposal is to build 61 affordable homes for social rent on the site which would include houses and flats ranging from 1,2 and 3 bedroom properties. The development will be made possible through the allocation of grant funding from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Supply Programme. 

    An engagement event took place in August to showcase the proposals. However, following feedback gathered at the event and via an online survey, some changes have been made.  

    A further drop-in event has therefore been arranged by the Council’s Housing Team, to provide feedback on the views gathered during the first event and to give you an opportunity to look at the updated proposals, find out more and give your feedback. The event details are:

    Time:            3pm to 7pm 
    Venue:          Auchinairn Community and Early Years Centre, Beech Rd Auchinairn, Bishopbriggs, G64 1NE 

    Experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide further details on the plans and drawings that are being proposed to help the Council deliver affordable homes in this area. 

    If you are unable to attend the drop-in event then you are still able to take part in the consultation. Please see the documents section for an overview of what is presently proposed for the site. Once you have looked over the plans, there is an opportunity to leave feedback on the proposals.

    The online consultation will be available from Friday 20 September until Friday 4 October 2024. 

    A report will then be prepared on this pre-application consultation exercise, which will be submitted in support of the planning application.

    Please note that comments made at this stage are not formal representations to the planning authority. Once a planning application is submitted a further opportunity to make representations to the planning authority on any development proposals will be made available.
