How do you contribute to the work of the Council and how do you make a difference in East Dunbartonshire?

Every member of the workforce has a part to play in ensuring the Council achieves its priorities and ultimately in delivering services to the people of East Dunbartonshire.

The Council manages performance through our strategic planning and performance framework. The framework ensures everything we do aligns to the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP) which is the primary strategic plan for all the Community Planning Partners in East Dunbartonshire.

Performance management is about how we plan and manage improvements to our services. In simple terms, performance management enables decision makers, both elected members and officers, to take necessary action based on facts about our performance.

Performance Development Review

Everyone who works at East Dunbartonshire Council should have a Performance Development Review (PDR) each year. This is based on individual objectives and wider team and service goals.

Throughout the year you, with your Line Manager, should monitor and evaluate the progress of your PDR. This should be a combination of meetings and communication throughout the year which gives a clear indication of the objectives set and progress towards achieving these.

Team Plan

Every team should have a Team Plan which is updated and adjusted each year in line with Council priorities. The team plan outlines the day-to-day work being carried out as well as highlighting specific projects and campaigns. Team plans are created from the wider strategic goals of your service’s Business Improvement Plan.

Business Improvement Plans

Business Improvement Plans (BIPS) are rolling strategic plans which set out the priorities of each service and outline how Executive Officers intend to measure performance against these priorities. The BIP also outlines how services intend to work with local communities to inform service delivery.

Local Outcome Improvement Plan

All priorities in our BIPS must demonstrate links to the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP).

The LOIP is the primary strategic plan for all the Community Planning Partners in East Dunbartonshire. It describes why and how we will work together to organise and provide services that tackle inequalities.
