Toolbox talks (also known as a Teatime talks for non-trade teams) are a great way to get the team engaged with health and safety topics and help them look out for themselves and each other on the job. You can cover basic requirements for health and safety in the workplace, any changes to H&S legislation or best practice and identify any potential safety hazards before they get out of hand. This is also a good time to check in and see how everyone’s coping with the current workload.

You can find below a list which you can run through them all in order, using one a week or a month or pick the topics that are relevant to your team only. They are meant to be kept short: Max of 15 minutes but normally around 10 minutes. There is also a register at the end of each training, for all who received it to sign, or you could keep an electronic attendance from Teams.

Some are specialist training and will only be useful for certain teams. If there is a topic you would like that is not included in the list, please email Health.Safety@eastdunbarton.gov.uk with your topic and some specific items you would like included and we will prepare it for you to deliver to your team. The H&S Team can also run regular training for your teams if you would prefer that
