As outlined in Employee News 26, we are participating in the Equally Safe at Work accreditation programme. This reaffirms our commitment to progressing gender equality in the workplace.
As part of the programme, all members of the workforce are invited to complete a confidential survey by Close the Gap, which has developed the Equally Safe at Work programme to support employers in addressing women’s inequality at work.
The survey aims to capture the experiences of Council employees. Close the Gap will use the data to build a picture of current practices and to gain an understanding of the priorities of our workforce. The survey will remain open for responses until Friday 23 January 2026.
As mentioned, all responses are confidential, will not be used to identify you and no individual responses will be shared with the Council. Close the Gap will only use the data as part of its evaluation and an anonymised summary will be shared with our Equally Safe at Work steering group.
Our Equally Safe at Work steering group is made up of representatives from various teams across the Council, and will be leading and progressing the programme to ensure we achieve Bronze accreditation.
The survey asks questions about violence against women and a trigger warning will appear ahead of this section so please bear this in mind before completing the survey.
