Can you spare the time to help guide the Council’s draft Climate Action Plan (CAP) and local efforts to tackle climate change?

Consultation is taking place on the draft CAP until Friday 19 December 2025 and we want YOUR views.

Please visit the Draft Climate Action Plan Consultation webpage to read a summary, access the full plan and have a say.

The impacts of climate change are increasingly clear with an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather being observed around the world, driven by greenhouse gas emissions from human activity.

In Scotland, our hottest days are getting hotter and our wettest days are getting wetter.

The draft CAP sets out actions to end East Dunbartonshire’s contributions to climate change by reaching net zero emissions, while building resilience to the ongoing effects of climate change.

It also outlines how we can deliver co-benefits for our communities – including more investment, cleaner air, better health and fresh job opportunities.

The draft CAP aims to build on a strong record of climate action in East Dunbartonshire, with emissions decreasing by almost 50% between 2005 and 2023.

However, there are many challenges ahead to continue this successful transition.

Please find out more and have a say by visiting the Draft Climate Action Plan Consultation webpage before midnight on Friday 19 December 2025.

Thank you,
