Could you spare a few minutes to take part in this year’s annual Employee Travel Survey?

The Council publishes a Carbon Management Plan annually, estimating greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies: Reporting Requirements) (Scotland) Order 2015, which requires the Council to submit an annual Climate Change Report to Scottish Ministers, detailing compliance with the climate change duties.

As part of that, we must carry out an annual Employee Travel Survey to estimate emissions from the Council’s homeworking and commuting activities.

Feedback from last year’s survey established our estimated commuting and homeworking emissions totalled 3,262 tCO2e. The Council’s total estimated emissions were 17,375 tCO2e and we aim to reduce these to 16,550 tC02e in 2026/27.

The 2026 Employee Travel Survey is now live, and we would ask all employees to please complete the survey by Friday 27 February. It should take around 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.

We’ll publish the findings on the Employee Zone and they will be used to support implementation of the Climate Action Plan.
