Huge thanks to everyone who has completed the Employee Travel Survey. If you haven’t done so already, please fill it in to help us find out more about your travel habits. It will only take about ten minutes and is anonymous.

The Council publishes a Carbon Management Plan annually, estimating greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Climate Change (Duties of Public Bodies: Reporting Requirements) (Scotland) Order 2015, which requires the Council to submit an annual Climate Change Report to Scottish Ministers, detailing compliance with the climate change duties.

As part of that, we must carry out an annual Employee Travel Survey to estimate emissions from the Council’s homeworking and commuting activities.

Feedback from last year’s survey established our estimated commuting and homeworking emissions totalled 3,262 tCO2e. The Council’s total estimated emissions were 17,375 tCO2e and we aim to reduce these to 16,550 tC02e in 2026/27.

We’ll publish the findings on the Employee Zone and they will be used to support implementation of the Climate Action Plan.

How to take part

The survey is available for you to complete on the Employee Zone of the Council website: Employee Travel Survey 2026 If you require a paper copy, please let your Line Manager know and this can be arranged. Closing date is Friday 27 February 2026.

Thank you
