East Dunbartonshire's Provost Gillian Renwick has written to three local people named in the New Year's Honours List to congratulate them on their awards.
- Elaine Boyd, from East Dunbartonshire, has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for public and charitable services. She is a Director at Audit Scotland and a passionate advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Joyce Murray, from Bishopbriggs, has been named a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for decades of community service - as a Council Crossing Patroller (currently at Balmuildy Primary School) and as a volunteer for 1st Glasgow Company, The Boys' Brigade.
- Remzije Sherifi, from Bearsden, has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to refugee integration in Glasgow. She is an author, producer and former Director of Maryhill Integration Network.
Provost Gillian Renwick said,
