Today the Council is launching its School Meals Consultation and we are asking parents, carers and pupils in all our Primary and Secondary Schools for their views on school meals.
Our catering teams strive to provide nutritious, delicious and fairly priced school meals and we want to know what our children and young people love about their school meals and what kind of foods they’d like to see on the menu.
We are running an online survey - from Monday 9 January for four weeks – it’s easy to fill in and should only take five to 10 minutes to complete. We are looking to find out what our children and young people like to eat for lunch; if they have school meals and if not, why not?; What factors are important to parents and carers – Cost? Nutritional value? Variety?
Convener of Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets, Councillor Paul Ferretti, said,
“Please take the time to let us know your views, the survey doesn’t take long to complete and we want to hear from as many people as possible. At the end of the consultation period we’ll share the information we have gathered and use the feedback to help us plan our menus going forward.”
