Budding young artists are being given the chance to try painting, pottery, drawing and crafts this summer.

Places are available for a range of events as part of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust's 'Summer smART' programme.

The sessions are being held to help celebrate this year’s 'Young People's Art' exhibition in the Lillie Art Gallery – a showcase of work created by talented local artists who have been attending Saturday Art Classes delivered by EDLC.

You can view the free exhibition at the Milngavie venue between 8 July and 28 September 2023.

  • The Lillie Art Gallery, Milngavie – 26 July
  • Lennoxtown Library – 31 July

Jim Neill, Chair of EDLC Trust, said, "These sessions are a chance for budding artists to come along to our venues and enjoy painting, crafting, drawing and 'throwing' clay on our pottery wheels. It will be messy, but also a whole load of fun. Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

He added,

If you get a chance, it's worth visiting the Lillie Art Gallery for this year's 'Young People's Art' exhibition. It's a great showcase of the excellent work done by rising stars in our communities.

The Lillie Art Gallery – Station Road, Milngavie, G62 8BZ – is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-1pm and 2-5pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
