Provost Gillian Renwick has launched her East Dunbartonshire Champion Awards to recognise those that make an outstanding contribution to their community.
Nominations for the 2023 Community Champion Awards are invited in the following six categories:
- Community Champion
- Young Champion
- Caring Champion
- Sports Champion
- Arts & Heritage Champion
- Sustainability Champion
Provost Renwick explained, “Those who are nominated should have made a significant contribution to the local community and should have demonstrated inspiring qualities and be a great role model to those around them.
A Community Champions Award page has been created, which you can also access from the Provost’s page on the Council website.
It includes details of the award categories, the eligibility criteria for those that are nominated and an online application form.
Provost Renwick continued, “Anyone can be nominated as long as they live, work or attend school or college in East Dunbartonshire and the closing date for nominations is Thursday 8 June 2023.
“The Depute Provost and I will then judge all the submissions we receive and we’ll announce the winners on Friday 16 June.”
The Provost will arrange to present the winner of each category with their Award following the announcement and the winners of all categories will be invited to attend the Civic Reception at the Gala Night of the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival, on Saturday 26 August, as guests of the Provost.
